An RSJ universal beam, also known as an I beam or a rolled steel joist, is a single piece of steel used in construction and manufacturing. It offers support during the construction of an extension or when creating an opening in a load-bearing wall. They are often known as steel support beams.
Our wide selection of steel universal beams for sale are S355 grade which describes hot-rolled structural steel with 355N/mm^2 minimum yield strength (BSEN 10025-2: 2004). Also known as BS 50B. Suitable for projects required to meet EXC2 of EN 1090.
So that you comply with building regulations, you will need a structural engineer to calculate the loading and supply you with loading certificate and the necessary dimensions. Unfortunately, our team are unable to advise you on the size you require for your project.
Cutting, Drilling and Painting
You can purchase universal beams / I Beams in standard lengths of 6m, 12.5m, or 14m, or we can cut them to any size you require. If you need painted steel beams or holes drilled, please select that option when ordering.

Delivery is 2/5 days on all mild steel and engineering steel products standard and cut. 48Hour Delivery available on most standard length orders but will depend on the delivery address provided. Please check with our chat team if quicker delivery is required.
Tubeclamps can often be delivered next day and the same goes for our Stainless and Handrail products.
