Delivery FAQ's

Delivery FAQ's

Do you have any weight restrictions for handballing steel off your wagon?
If an item on order is over 100Kg in weight, you will need either a mechanical lift or forklift to offload it. Most orders under this weight requirement can be offloaded by hand. Our delivery drivers are not allowed to help with offloading, so you will need to ensure you have sufficient manpower available. For large steel orders, or for customers that don’t have the facility to offload themselves, we can provide a quote for a Hiab lorry that will have a mechanical lift to aid in offloading. If you are unsure, please get in touch and we can go through your options.
What are the delivery charges?
We offer FREE delivery on all steel and tube clamp orders over £300 ex VAT. For steel orders under £300, we charge £60+vat standard delivery or you can collect from a local depot. For tube clamps and handrail products under £300, we charge £20 delivery. Anything GRP related will have delivery quoted after you have placed your order (we do not take payment for the order until you have agreed the delivery charges).
When can I expect delivery?
We work to deliver all orders withing 2/5 working days and hold extensive steel stocks across the UK. Orders for standard lengths will most likely be delivered quicker due to us not having to process your order. If you require next-day urgent delivery please just ask our live chat team or call on 020 4511 5540 and our team will be able to check stock/wagon availability based on your location.

Tube Clamp FAQ's

Can I use Tubeclamps to make furniture?
Yes! From dining room tables to outdoor furniture Tubeclamps are the perfect versatile construction method. If you are after that loft luxe look then Tubeclamps could be perfect for your home or business.
Can Tubeclamps be welded together to create a handrail?
No, no special skills are required - no welding, no bending, no threading just a hexagonal key to tighten the set screws and you can join tubing together in a matter of seconds. The comprehensive range of fittings and sizes means that fittings can be used in a wide variety of applications, either temporary or permanent.
What Bay Centres do I need to consider when building handrails?
The space you leave between uprights depends on a number of factors including the type of clamps and the dimension of pipe used to create the barrier. You use C or D clamps and pipe for all general and commercial handrailing projects but E can be used for loading bays or warehouse environments. Check out our Blog pages where we have a full chart advising you on Bay Centre placement.
Pre-Configured Handrail FAQ's

Pre-Configured Handrail FAQ's

Are all necessary components included in the kit, or do some need to be purchased separately?
Our handrail kits come with all the essential components required for assembly. This includes the Allen keys needed for the fittings. The only additional items you will need are appropriate ground fixings to securely bolt the flanges to the floor. As for tools, please ensure you have the following on hand: an electric drill, a masonry bit (for drilling into concrete or brick), a screwdriver, and a spanner. These tools are necessary for the installation process but are not included in the kit.
Can the handrail be customised to fit specific dimensions?
Absolutely, the modular nature of our handrail kits allows for a high degree of customization to suit various dimensions and layouts. The standard kits are designed to fit a wide range of applications. However, if you find that our existing options don't perfectly match your requirements, please feel free to contact us. We offer a bespoke design service where we can tailor a solution specifically for your unique use case. This service includes assisting with measurements, providing advice on the best configuration, and ensuring that the final product aligns seamlessly with your specific spatial and aesthetic needs.
Can the handrails be bolted to any surface?
The handrails can be bolted to most surfaces, including wood, concrete, and metal. However, it is important to note that they should not be bolted directly onto brickwork. Brick can be a fragile material and might not provide the necessary stability and strength required for a secure handrail installation. If you need to install the handrail in an area with brickwork, it's advisable to use an alternative mounting method or attach the handrail to a more stable structure adjacent to the brickwork. For specific advice on mounting in unique situations, consulting a professional is always recommended.
How easy is it to assemble the handrail kit?
The assembly process for the handrail kit is designed to be very straightforward and easy. All the galvanised tubes are pre-cut to the necessary sizes, eliminating the need for any cutting or sizing during installation. The connections between the tubes are made using tube clamps, which are simple to attach. To secure these clamps, all you need is an Allen key, which is included in the kit. This means you won't require any specialised tools or advanced skills to assemble the handrail, making it a user-friendly process suitable for DIY enthusiasts.
